Many small businesses borrow from friends
and family to get started. SCORE and Circle Lending have developed
a free program, "Small Business Financing Guide," that

Grants and Loans
OK,
you have heard about those Government grants, direct loans and
other government assistance programs to get your small business
started. As SCORE counselors we frequently are asked about these
programs. This link to the Catalog of Federal Domestic Assistance
web site will let you check out all of the possible sources. You
can search the database to find assistance programs that meet
your requirements, but it is not easy for the typical small business
owner to find a program for which they will be eligible. If you
do find a possible program you can then contact the office that
administers it and find out how to apply.
